Design & Construct
Monarch was engaged to design and construct a warm shell tenancy fitout for Navantia Australia’s new office at 23 National Circuit, Barton. The project delivers a modern workplace defined by strong brand expression, natural materials, and a refined industrial aesthetic.
The arrival experience is anchored by a bold navy feature wall and custom reception desk, complemented by integrated timber joinery and clean-lined detailing. Exposed services and linear lighting are balanced with the building’s exposed cross laminated timber (CLT) structure and acoustic treatments, creating visual depth while maintaining acoustic performance and comfort.
Generous glazing introduces natural light throughout the tenancy, enhancing the open-plan work areas and meeting rooms. A mix of enclosed offices, collaborative spaces, training and showroom areas, and formal boardroom facilities provide flexibility while maintaining a cohesive material palette of timber, soft grey finishes and Navantia’s signature blue.
Feature lighting, including suspended circular fittings and linear pendants, reinforces the modern workplace character. Integrated cable reticulation within the raised access floor and exposed ceiling areas was carefully coordinated to preserve the clean architectural outcome.
A key component of the fitout is the Zone 3 SCEC-compliant bunker, purpose-built for secure meetings and confidential information storage, seamlessly integrated within the overall design.
Delivered within an occupied building, the project required careful staging, controlled material handling and noise management to minimise disruption. Through considered detailing and coordinated delivery, the result is a highly functional, light-filled workplace that reflects Navantia’s identity while supporting long-term performance and adaptability.
