Monarch refurbished the Royal Military College’s Kapyong Building, enhancing live-in accommodation for Defence personnel. The project involved upgrading internal walls and fixtures, new bathrooms , replacing the external building fabric and windows, and remediating mechanical and electrical services.

Working closely with RMC stakeholders, Monarch designed joinery tailored to cadets’ needs, providing dedicated storage for uniforms and equipment. A prototype room was developed, serving as the benchmark for stakeholder-approved standards, which helped streamline approvals and accelerate project delivery.

The safe removal of asbestos and lead-containing materials was a key focus, with works resuming only after certified clearance. Without a lift in the building, materials were managed efficiently through a combination of scaffolding and craning, addressing the challenges of manual handling.
