Jim Elphick Tennis Centre Officially Opens

The newly redeveloped Jim Elphick Tennis Centre in Wagga Wagga is now officially open, marking a major milestone for regional tennis.
The launch was attended by dignitaries from local and state governments alongside representatives from the tennis community. Independent Member for Wagga Wagga, Dr Joe McGirr MP, opened the centre on behalf of NSW Minister for Sport, The Hon Stephen Kamper MP, with special guests including tennis greats Tony Roche AOand Casey Dellacqua, Tennis NSW President Melissa Achten, and CEO Darren Simpson.
The redevelopment has transformed the venue into a world-class facility, now featuring:
Eight ITF-standard cushioned acrylic hard courts
Two cushioned warm-up courts
Five synthetic grass courts
UPDATE: The centre is now set to make its mark on the national tennis calendar, with Tennis Australia confirming an Australian Pro Tour event to be held from 8–21 September 2025. The tournament will bring back-to-back women’s ITF World Tennis Tour events to Wagga Wagga, further cementing the venue’s place in Australian tennis.
