Jim Elphick Tennis Centre

As the first stage of the Bolton Park Sports Hub redevelopment, the new Jim Elphick Tennis Centre has transformed Wagga Wagga into a top-tier destination for tennis and major sporting events.

The state-of-the-art facility features:

  • 8 International Tennis Federation (ITF) standard cushioned acrylic hard courts

  • 2 cushioned acrylic warm-up courts

  • 2 multi-purpose netball courts

  • 5 synthetic grass courts

The new clubhouse overlooks both the courts and neighbouring oval and includes changerooms, a pro shop, office space, lift access, a commercial kitchen, and function facilities.

Despite being the last of four Tennis NSW-funded centres to start, the Wagga site was the first to reach completion.

Complex ground conditions required lime stabilisation and careful excavation to protect the capped pavement profile. The team delivered a continuous asphalt surface to a tight tolerance (+/- 3mm), with the finish described by the subcontractor as one of the best they’ve seen.
