To enhance the resident facilities at The Grove retirement village in Ngunnawal, Canberra, upgrades to the central resident Clubhouse have delivered a luxury cinema and entertainment space.
Two outdated spaces were combined to create a single, purpose-built theatre room, defined by three-tiered seating levels including two dedicated wheelchair-accessible spaces, providing residents and visitors a comfortable and elevated viewing experience.
Each tier is fitted with leather reclining chairs, with guiding strip lighting and handrails at every seat to support resident accessibility. The theatre is finished with rustic bronze pendants, forest green velvet curtains and acoustic panelling for a genuine cinema atmosphere.
Viewing is effortless, with a 140-inch screen paired to a custom hardwired projector. Pendant lighting is integrated with the system, dimming and brightening in sync with each film to complete the immersive experience.
Behind the scenes, electrical, hydraulic and fire services upgrades ensure the theatre integrates seamlessly with the surrounding facilities. The result is another milestone in The Grove's continued growth, a touch of luxury woven into everyday life for its residents.
