Monarch Building Solutions was engaged by Aurecon to deliver a staged package of works across multiple buildings at the Majura Training Area (MTA) in Canberra.
The scope of works included the refurbishment of the accommodation and medical areas, full bathroom refurbishments, replacement of light fittings, and internal and external painting.
A highlight of this project was retrofitting solar hot water plants to the existing LPG hot water plant to each building, which included storage tanks, evacuated solar tube collectors and the system controllers and sensors.
As the Monarch team were required to work in and around these occupied buildings; careful planning and consideration ensured the other MTA buildings remained operational throughout each stage of the works with minimal disruption to facility operations, the building tenants, and Defence personnel.
