Lowanna is an outstanding urban infill development that transformed three consolidated blocks into 24 one- and two-bedroom apartments set within shared landscaped gardens. Designed to complement its inner-city streetscape, the building created a strong frontage while reflecting the scale and character of the original duplex dwellings through a series of smaller, well-proportioned forms separated by sunny, open walkways.

The development offered north-facing indoor and outdoor living spaces, with most apartments opening onto a large communal garden. One-bedroom apartments feature sliding screens to connect bedroom and living areas, while two-bedroom apartments incorporated central service joinery to define private and shared spaces.

Constructed from a sympathetic palette of robust materials, including dark face brick, concrete, and steel cladding, the design balanced durability with streetscape compatibility. Lowanna enhanced the surrounding neighbourhood, was well received by the community, and delivered strong outcomes for both residents and developers.
